Vitamin A (Retinol) is a protector vitamin, necessary for maintaining and assisting in the formation of healthy skin, bones, teeth, and mucous membranes that line body cavities and tracts, such as nasal passages and intestinal tract and even inside your mouth, thus increasing resistance to infection and even cancer. It is also important for proper development and health of the eyes, promoting healthy eye tissue and eye adaptation in dim light.

At the first hint of a cold, take between 50,000 and 100,000 IU of Vitamin A, along with large doses of Vitamin C and Zinc, daily.

Also improves recovery from stronger respiratory and sinus infections. An oral supplement combined with direct skin treatments will slow a herpes outbreak.

People with AIDS are at least 200 times more likely than their otherwise healthy counterparts to have low levels of Vitamin A, even when their vitamin intake from food is adequate. Doctors can predict the life expectancy of someone with AIDS just by measuring blood concentrations of retinol. Even a modest supplement of Vitamin A, between 13,000 and 20,000 IU per day, may slow the disease down.

For strong acne problems, using a dosage between 200,000 and 500,000 IU per day for three or four months clears the skin of the persistent pimply eruptions. By eliminating sugars and refined carbohydrates from your diet; and including Vitamin E, Zinc, Pantothenic Acid, GLA, and beneficial bacteria as part of your acne therapy, you can get by with only 100,000 IU, a safer dosage.

Whether injured by sunburn or surgical incision, the skin heals better with Vitamin A, along with Zinc, supplements.

Some premenstrual tension's bothersome symptoms disappear under the vitamin's influence and may not return even after discontinuing taking the supplement. In research and in studies, 50,000 IU per day reduced heavy menstrual bleeding and 150,000 IU was useful in treating benign breast disease. Taken with Folic Acid and Boron, Vitamin A contributes to minimizing hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms.

Contains No Sugar, Salt, Starch, Preservatives or Artificial Coloring Added.

Caution: If you are pregnant or lactating, do not exceed 8,000 IU per day, as it may cause birth defects or be toxic to infant. But avoiding it is also not wise, researchers have found no ill effects from daily doses of 6,000 IU.
