Studies in both animals and humans indicate that Pregnenolone may be an ideal memory-enhancing drug and the most potent memory-enhancing substance known. Pregnenolone improved productivity, enhanced mood and relieved stress among factory workers tested.1 It's the substance from which the body makes DHEA and almost all other sex hormones, including testosterone, estrogen, cortisol and aldosterone. An especially vital supplement for women--it creates a balance with estrogen to reduce the risk of certain cancers, such as breast cancer and uterine fibroids and fibrocystic breast disease. In tests that date back to the 1940s, Pregnenolone has been shown to control pain, swelling and other symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. It's the only hormone that does not cause metabolic side effects. Many doctors are now using this hormone to treat any condition for which prednisone would be prescribed--arthritis, multiple sclerosis, asthma, temporal arthritis and lupus, to name a few. Combined with DHEA, Pregnenolone proves to be useful for relieving depression.
