Great Eastern Sun introduces its jazzy new repackaging of
its organic classic teas of the world in convenient cases of six boxes of 24
full two-gram teabags each. Our fine line of English Tea is the only tea
line in North America composed exclusively of organic black
tea. Independent
certification assures that no chemical fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides,
or pesticides are used on the estates where our teas are grown and
processed. Our teabags are made from oxygen-bleached natural fibers with
individual cellophane wraps on each teabag to preserve freshness. Our ink is
soy-based and our tea boxes are 100% recycled paperboard coated with a
water-based varnish. GES donates two percent of net total sales of this new
line to the World Federalist Association to further their work towards
achieving a stable planetary government in order to end war among nations.

leaves with bamboo screens to protect them from the afternoon sun. While
most farmers use these shade-grown leaves to produce Matcha, the green tea
powder used in the tea ceremony, the Nagata family processes these prized
leaves into Sencha, the highest quality leaf. The bud and top two leaves
are cut, steamed, rolled into tight curls, dried slowly in ovens, then
packed to seal in the fresh taste and aroma of just-picked tea. In order

Japanese Roasted Green Hojicha, C
By early summer in the Uji district, traditional center of
the Japanese tea industry, tea leaves grow too large and coarse for the
Nagata family to make into Sencha. The Nagatas steam these leaves to
prevent fermentation, mix them with volcanic sand, and roast them in
revolving ovens to make Hojicha. The sand, later removed, helps the leaves
roast slowly and evenly. Roasting further neutralizes the leaves’ already
weak astringent and stimulating qualities (tea leaves contain less
caffeine as they grow older)and gives this tea its distinctive smoky or
nutty flavor. The result is unparalleled taste and quality, as perfectly

During the fall in the Uji district,
traditional center of the Japanese tea industry, the Nagata family turns
to the harvest of tea twigs for Kukicha, the “peasant's drink”, so-called
because farmers drank it after selling the leaves to sophisticated
urbanites as a cash crop. The Nagatas carefully select 40% medium 3-yr,
40% thick 10-yr, and 20% thin twigs and leaves aged 1 year, before gently
roasting each variety separately to bring out its rich flavor. Because
caffeine is concentrated in the leaves, twig tea is low in caffeine and
