Our Unscented deodorant uses coriander oil as an odor-fighting ingredient and contain lichen extract for added protection.  All our natural deodorants are effective and mild, yet contain no alcohol or synthetic ingredients, dyes, or fragrances. Shaving Creams
Made from the soaps of pure olive and coconut oils, our shaving cream provides excellent lubrication for razor glide while protecting and conditioning the skin. We add glycerin to help make it gentle and there's no alcohol, so it won't dry your skin. Tom’s of Maine Natural Shaving Cream is a non-aerosol, soap-based product that produces a natural, soapy lather. Our shaving cream lubricates naturally, rinses off easily, and contains no propellants or foaming agents that might threaten the Earth’s atmosphere. Many of our customers have reported that Tom’s of Maine Natural Shaving Cream is the ideal product for use with old-style shaving brushes. However you choose to lather it, the smooth razor glide and refreshing natural scent make for a superior shaving experience. Packaged in aluminum tubes that can be recycled with soda cans. The outer box is made from 100% recycled paperboard (95% post-consumer waste).

Natural Mouthwashes
Our natural mouthwash has always been alcohol- and saccharin-free. We use aloe vera juice to soothe, alcohol-free witch hazel as an astringent, and pure essential oils for refreshing flavor.  Tom’s of Maine Natural Mouthwash is a part of the Tom’s of Maine oral care line, which includes Natural Toothpaste (available with and without fluoride) and Natural Flossing Ribbon. Tom’s oral care products are well suited for individuals who wish to avoid unnecessary synthetic ingredients or who wish to use products that aren’t tested on animals. Packaged in recyclable #2 HDPE plastic and can be recycled with milk jugs. An innovative fold-out pamphlet affixed to the back eliminates the need for a cardboard carton. A tamper-evident wrap is sealed over the cap to ensure freshness and discourage tampering.

Dental Floss

Made with a unique combination of natural waxes and flavored with pure mint oils. Our flossing ribbon is a flat tape, so it first comfortably between teeth without jabbing gums. Packaged in a durable, snap-open plastic housing. Our Marketing Team has been developing a plan to bring refills to market without compromising quality or creating surplus waste in the process. The outer cardboard carton is 100% recycled paperboard.

Tom's of Maine Natural Toothpaste is the flagship of the company's natural personal care product line.  Tom's Natural Spearmint, Cinnamint, Fennel, Peppermint Baking Soda, Wintermint, Children's Silly Strawberry and Outrageous Orange toothpastes are available with fluoride (sodium monofluorophosphate), an ingredient proven to be effective in fighting tooth decay.

ADA Acceptance
The American Dental Association awarded its Seal of Acceptance to our regular formula fluoride toothpastes. Packaged in an aluminum tube with a thin lining of food-grade plastic which insulates the toothpaste from the aluminum. This tube can be recycled with soda cans. The carton that protects the tube is made from 100% recycled paperboard.

Overview
In 1975, Tom's of Maine premiered the first natural toothpaste, which has become the flagship of the company's natural personal care product line. Our philosophy with regard to our products has always been to include safe, natural ingredients and to keep our product formulations as simple as possible. This philosophy of simplicity led us to produce a toothpaste that included the herbal resins propolis and myrrh but did not contain fluoride. Although propolis and myrrh don't have the cavity-fighting properties of fluoride, they do deliver the significant benefits of acting as an astringent (myrrh) and gum stimulant (propolis). Calcium carbonate acts to neutralize plaque acids, which can help to prevent the onset of plaque and tartar. After our original toothpaste had been on the market for a while, many customers (and their dental care professionals) wrote to tell us that they believed that preventing cavities is an essential part of what they want a toothpaste to do. By listening to what our customers were telling us, we learned that many people want to use a natural toothpaste that also delivers cavity-preventing benefits. When we created the first natural toothpaste with fluoride in 1981, we knew that there was still strong interest in non-fluoride toothpaste. Some people get as much fluoride as they want from other sources such as well water, fluoridated municipal water, or prescription supplements. Others wish to avoid fluoride because of individual sensitivities or personal preference. We realized, then, that the most responsible thing to do would be to offer a choice. This way, individual consumers and their dental care professionals can determine an oral hygiene regimen that is best suited to their individual needs. Rather than use artificial flavors or sweeteners, Tom's worked for several years to develop a unique gel-paste formula that is a perfect complement to the natural appeal of fruit extracts. Orange, strawberry, banana and pineapple are blended together to create two "child-approved" flavors, Silly Strawberry and Outrageous Orange. Tom's relationship with children does not end with purchase of the product, however. Each children's toothpaste box invites kids to send in pictures they draw and invites them to share news about recycling in their communities. Each child who sends a letter or picture receives a personal response from Tom's. As a result, our office is brightly decorated with some of the great artwork we receive. Leading an active life makes it necessary for us to shampoo frequently. We wanted to develop a shampoo that was gentle enough to use every day, with built in conditioners to prevent a dried out, over-washed look. We used our decade of experience in formulating natural shampoos to create Tom's Natural Shampoo with Aloe & Almond for this purpose. We think you'll find it pleasant & reassuring to use a natural shampoo made without artificial preservatives, dyes & fragrance; it delivers the extra benefits of aloe vera while letting your clean healthy hair shine through. Our Natural Honeysuckle Baby Shampoo is especially gentle to the scalp and hair and is well suited for use with children. It is not, however, tear-free. Tear-free shampoos add ingredients which inhibit the eye's ability to form tears. Tear production is the eye's natural and healthy response to cleanse itself of foreign substances. We have therefore decided not to use "tear-free" ingredients in our natural baby shampoo. Packaged in fully recyclable #2 HDPE plastic bottles that contains post-consumer recycled plastics. These innovative bottles put a layer of post-consumer regrind (PCR) plastic in between the inner and outer layers of virgin HDPE in order to deliver high recycled content and optimum sterility.
