Helps in treating the following problems and conditions: colds, asthma, coughs, catarrh, sore throat, post nasal drip, hair and scalp problems,
kidney stones, liver problems, jaundice.
Standard infusion, 1-3 fluid ounces; 8 ounces as hair rinse.
The leaves of the plant are used (for a very special tea, add a stick of cinnamon, slice of lemon, three cloves and some honey - a truly great tonic tea).
How to make herbal tea: The standard way to make an infusion, is to pour a cup of boiling water over the material to be infused, let it stand for 5 minutes, strain it, and drink it. Do not continuously drink the same type of infusion - take it for 10 days and then skip 5 days. Only have one cup of herbal infusion per day, except during acute periods - such as when you have a cold or flu. You can then have it three times a day, but for no more than 4 days.
Regulated in the U.S. as an allowable flavoring agent in alcoholic beverages.
Warning: Not to be used during pregnancy. Large doses may act as an emetic.
