Earlier on at herbalhut.comâ„¢, we specialized in tried-and-true herbal blends using the finest quality all natural ingredients. We made extra effort to obtain the ingredients directly from its native region and to prepare each order by hand. As we grew, we held firm to the idea of quality, service and preparing orders by hand. Remaining steadfastly committed to offering a wide assortment of high-quality, non-irradiated 100% natural products.

Herbs and Supplements

We offer you herbs in multiple forms - vegetarian/gelatin capsules, extracts, loose (bulk) and homeopathics. Most people choose their "herb form" based on personal preference. Maybe you can't swallow pills and would prefer to make an herbal tea using an infuser, strainer, etc. (you can use our bulk herbs and teas!). Or, if you don't mind the taste, maybe the concentrated liquid extracts are for you. Whatever way you choose to take your herbs, you'll find it here.

All of the herbs we provide are of the highest quality and potency. All powdered herbs are cryogenically ground -- a process that has proven to preserve up to 22% of the potency versus herbs ground using the traditional way which produces heat, breaking down the constituents. All are non-irradiated and over 90% are kosher certified (as listed, all herbs & spices are kosher, unless it states otherwise). From choices of Certified Organic, Wildcrafted and Cultivated herbs. Wildcrafted and Cultivated herbs are grown and processed without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and tested free of any chemical residue, but is not guaranteed.

Which herbal remedies are better, capsules or extracts?

The decision to buy capsules over extracts and vice versa, is really a matter of personal preference. Some people find capsules hard to swallow and purchase liquid doses of their favorite herbs because they are easier to take. Others do not like to taste the extracted variety and prefer the convenience of a capsule. There are small differences between the two:

Herbal Capsules
This is one of the most common ways to take a dose of herbs, and most natural foods stores and grocery stores carry them in this form. The herbs used in capsules are usually whole and unprocessed before they are ground down into a fine powder and encapsulated. When trying to assess the quality of capsules, the most important factor to determine is whether or not the capsule contains any unnecessary filler ingredients. These might include magnesium stearate, flour, rice, silica and glycerol. Fillers are usually included to ‘bulk out’ the capsule, and to keep the cost of the product down.

Herbal Extracts
Extraction is the process used draw out the constituent properties of an herb. Alcohol or water is used to extract these compounds out of the herb and away from inactive constituents such as starch. Extracts are generally more concentrated than capsules and therefore more quickly assimilated by the body. They are recommended for people who might have compromised digestive systems as a result of stress or stimulants because they are absorbed into the bloodstream more easily than capsules. Also, according to traditional medicine, the actual taste of an extract on the tongue can play an important part in the process of healing. View a handy FAQ on herbal extracts, provided by Herb Pharm.

Whichever format you choose, you can rest assured that you're getting the highest quality, purest form of herbal medicine available today.

We also feature herbs from Frontier (because of cut-backs some Frontier herbs may not be available, as a result we may substitute for a comparable product) and Starwest Botanicals. Herbal supplements from all the popular and the finest brand names in the industry that you have come to love and trust.  Here you'll also find single herbs and herbal extracts in bulk quantities should you wish to make herbal remedies yourself.  Capsuling equipment for making your own herbal supplements is also available.
