Warning Black Cohosh brings on menstruation and labor; never take during the course of your pregnancy. Should be taken in small doses, high levels cause nausea and vomiting.

The effect of Black Cohosh strongly resembles estrogen's influence in the body, therefore it is very useful for alleviating menstrual cramps and menopausal problems such as hot flashes and night sweats. Also reduces labor pains during childbirth,Black Cohosh neuralgia, and generalized tension. Daily intake usually diminishes symptoms within two weeks. Combine it with Chamomile to increase its potency for relieving menstrual and labor pains.

It is also excellent for nervous system tonic for both women and men, and brings relief from the unexplained muscle pains of fibromyalgia.

Improves circulation and is effective in the treatment of respiratory problems and rheumatism. Treats and relieves muscle spasms, neuralgis, insomnia, numbness, and convulsions. Sometimes used to treat hypertension by helping open blood vessels. Combined with herbs Coltsfoot and Yerba Santa, Black Cohosh is an effective treatment for asthma, bronchitis, and coughs.

Capsule: One up to three times daily.
Tincture: One teaspoon up to three times daily.
Extract: Mix 10 to 30 drops of extract in water or juice taken daily.
