Gel
Wax for Making Embeddables
This
"Hassle-Free" wax is the easiest for making
your own wax embedables (see our molds).
It has a 156ºF meltpoint & pre-blended with all of
the necessary additives, with 20% stearic
added to harden it even more so that your embeds won't
melt when your hot gel wax
is poured. It is molded & shaped to fit right in
your melting
pot so you won't have to break slabs & measure
either. |

|
What is gel?
Candle gel is manufactured from specially processed mineral
oils and gelled with co-polymers. It has a clear rubbery
texture and gel burns twice as long as paraffin.
Are gel candles easy to make?
Yes, basically all you need to do is melt the gel, add color
and scent, set the wick and pour into your container. Gel doesn't shrink so
re-pours are not necessary.
Do I need any special equipment?
No,
the gel can be melted in a regular melting pot over direct
heat or in a crock pot with a temperature gauge. Liquid dyes are
best for gel, color blocks are waxed based and will cloud the
gel and food color is water based and will not mix with gel.

Penreco
Versagel-F Fragrance Gel
Not to be
used as burning candle gel! This is a great
alternative for people who love the beautiful & fragrant
gels, but do not burn candles. This gel is designed to be
poured into a jar without a wick. It will evaporate over time
as it releases the fragrance into the air. You can embed
any item into this gel since there is no flame or wick,
leaving the possibilities endless! You can also use any
non-polar fragrance in gel since flashpoint isn't an issue.
Make sure to test your fragrances for polarity by mixing 1/3
fragrance with 2/3 mineral oil to check for clouding or
seperation. The recommended fragrance load is about 9% &
it is released better when the jar is placed in a warm
environment with good air circulation. They are easy to make
too -- just gently heat your gel in a double boiler over LOW
HEAT to 140-150ºF, add your color (if desired) & scent
& pour into your jar. Be careful not to heat the gel too hot -
it's flashpoint is 177ºF! |

Wax CB
An all-natural wax that makes quality
candles! It's easy to use, one-pour, colors well, throws scent well
& burns clean & smoke free. It's made of pure botanical oils
with a soy bean base so it's biodegradeable and promotes farming! It
does not need any additives & it works well with essential
oils and regular fragrance
oils. Heating the wax to 200 degrees is recommended, adding your
color and scent and cool to 160 degrees before pouring. It doesn't
shrink so you won't need to re-pour. Great for beginners because it's
so easy to use. Production candle makers will love it because it melts
fast and leaves virtually no wet spots. You can even achieve a

Honeywell
10223 Container Wax, 123ºF
melt-point
Honeywell should
have named this "Scent Wax" because it's just simply
fabulous for scent throw! It's a soft wax that colors
easily, adheres to jars, & has little or no shrinkage so
re-pours are minimal. The main advantage to this wax over
other container waxes is how fragrant your scents will be in
your candles. We tested this wax with what would be considered
"light" scents & it still had a wonderful scent
throw while burning. Easy-to-use & requires no additives.
We recommend using a slightly larger wick for these waxes.
